One Bright Morning

Back in January, I had the honor of photographing this young family before a deployment.  I had wanted, oh so wanted, to be there to document his reunion with his family.  Sadly, it was not meant to be.  My family was in the midst of car problems, surgery recoveries, the hottest summer in Austin’s history, fires, you name it.  Everything was against me being there and I was so frustrated.  I didn’t want them to go without updated portraits, though, so we met at a park one morning. Thank you for what you did for our Nation.  Thank you for serving.  Welcome...

Firsts

This was their first formal family portrait session since becoming a family, and aren’t they gorgeous?     I was honored to photograph this loving family earlier this spring (when things were still green!) and capture some very special smiles. Brenda, I remember this session often and am so honored you allowed me to become a part of your family’s history! Thank you so much for the honor. Pin...

2009 revisited

It was brought to my attention that all (okay, not all but most) of my sessions before the start of this year have gone missing.  Yes, ’tis true.  I switched hosting companies when I got serious about running this business my way (and not on borrowed bandwidth from family) and I didn’t realize I would need to *wait* to fill in the new DNS addresses with the domain registrar until *after* I’d backed up the blog posts.  I logged in to Cpanel to download everything (probably while whistling a catchy tune) only to find out that I’d already deleted the information in...

refreshing

I just realized I’ve been holding onto some bluebonnet session photos for too long now.  Looking back over these is so refreshing; remembering the cooler weather, the storm clouds that were about to roll in… Spring is such a short and sweet season here in Texas.  I can’t believe it’s already gone!  I couldn’t be more excited to celebrate this sweet family’s return back to Texas this spring by photographing them in the bluebonnets.  Kerry, your family is absolutely lovely and your oldest’s eyelashes are definitely to die for. This little man had...

playing hookie

This morning I played hookie from church along with my good friend, Crystal, and her family.  Shh… don’t tell our small group leaders!  *wink* This is from my morning session this morning and I couldn’t help myself.  I imported the files off of the memory cards as soon as I got home and before I knew it, this was in photoshop getting the final touches, so I thought I might as well share it with you. I have a few sessions I still need to edit (eek! I’m still behind!) and I will be working on getting those done tonight.  I relaxed waaay too much over the holidays! ...
