strike a pose
I was blessed with the opportunity to assist in helping photograph a wedding in Wimberly. We were out in the middle of a huge ranch with not much light at all with a great live band and the crowd had a couple of hula hoops. I was watching the younger folk having some fun with those hula hoops and I wanted to try some creative rim lighting (or back lighting) since I had the flashes firing with radio transmitters and BOOM. This guy strikes a pose! Awesomesauce! I can’t help but post this one (yes, just one). Don’t worry. The main photographer told me to blog this one,...

I thought it might be interesting to post some of the outtakes of my boys. I pretty much stopped once I knew I had one in camera that was of all 3 of them looking in my general direction and in focus. I’m just so thankful that they were also smiling! So fun. I’ll be posting some session shots next week, so be sure to check back for those...

I just got home from my trip up to Plano for bluebonnet portraits and while it was very rainy and cloudy, we still managed to get some beautiful images. I will be up late proofing but I just couldn’t resist editing the one – the ONLY one – of my boys that Grandma Barnes helped me to get of my boys. I was so excited to finally have one picture of all three of them smiling. Photographer’s kids have got to be some of the hardest kids to photograph, especially for their own mother. The boys are 1/8th Japanese, if you couldn’t tell from their squinty...

Jessica is the sweetest person. I’ve had the honor of watching her grow as person on so many levels… from her profession to wife to mother and I have to say that she is fabulous on all levels. Not only does she have the cutest 2 year old ever, but she has a great sense of self and always has a smile to share with others. This sweet family has a wedding to go to on the actual day of my mini sessions, so we went ahead and had them early. I hope you enjoy the quick peek at what we captured that morning in the field of beautiful...

I’ve hunted the best bluebonnet patches around (at least, in Austin!!) and found some that I just love. My camera, footstool, and I are ready for you! I still have three openings for bluebonnet portrait mini sessions here in Austin! I will be in the North Texas Area on April 17th and have as many as six or seven spots to fill. I might not be in “Dallas” Dallas if just my sister-in-law is interested since we can meet just about anywhere there is a beautiful scenic patch of bluebonnets, but otherwise I will try to stick close to the Plano/Dallas side of DFW as possible to...
