The Clubhouse Scene delivers, beautifully

This party was the last event I had the opportunity to use a borrowed camera body for my photography and I took so. many. photos.  SO many that I had to whittle it down and down.  I ended up emailing Julia at Little Austinites and Rebecca of The Clubhouse Scene nearly sixty images.  There was just so much to capture!

Julia, over at Little Austinites has been a good friend of mine since our oldest kids were mere weeks old.  We met at a playgroup meetup where we were the only two who showed up.  I know a few excellent friendships between women that have started that way.  I gotta say, I am continually thankful for making it out of the house with my 10 week old bubs that morning.  I love watching our kids grow up and feel like we’re growing up as Mommies at the same time.

When I got the invitation to a “Unbirthday Party” she was hosting for a review on littleaustinites.com, I jumped at the chance to bring my oldest to the event, knowing full well how much of a “party pooper” he can be.  He did cling to me for the first ten minutes we were there, but the second the “treasure boxes” were introduced, he was a-okay and really ended up having a blast.

Julia wrote her full review over on littleaustinites.com, but I thought I’d add a few of my own thoughts here, with my photos.  The crafts were a big hit with my boy.  He did not want to dress up and the organized activities were a bit much for him but he is home with me 100% of the time and doesn’t understand group activities yet.  I’m sure he would have been much more participatory had he had more exposure to classrooms and group activities in the past.  But the treasure box!! He got to color it and decorate it with jewels and … he still carries it around with him, 1.5 weeks later.

There were crafts and games and dress-up and food and… it was the perfect party!

The girls loved getting made up and having their fingernails polished.  There was a tent with two tables for the tea party and also a castle and fairy changing room.  The kids sat on “toadstool” cushions for the activities.  The make-up station was next to the fairy changing room and everything was decorated to a T.  The details were all so beautiful and the food was so delicious.

The chicken salad sandwiches were divine.  Oh, and the cupcakes!

The Clubhouse Scene really did a great job!  Julia reports that she didn’t have to lift a finger… I was there, and can attest that she did not have to at all!  After the party, we all retreated to the living room while The Clubhouse Scene did all of the clean-up.  I think this is a great service for anyone wanting to both host a party and enjoy it at the same time.

It was really luck that I was able to take pictures for both sites alongside my good friend, Dawn, of Dawn Fry Photo and someone I’d admired for awhile, George of Hsubox Photography.  We each have such very different styles, angles, and editing styles and it’s neat to be brought together by an event such as this!
